If you've ever emailed iPhone photos to a Windows PC and found files with a .heic extension that nothing will open, you've hit the HEIC problem. Here's the fastest free solution.

What is HEIC?

HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is Apple's default photo format since iOS 11. It produces 50% smaller files than JPEG with better quality — but it's only natively supported on Apple devices. Windows 10/11 won't open HEIC without a paid codec. Android doesn't support it natively either.

Convert HEIC to JPG in 3 steps

Go to HEIC to JPG. Drop your .heic files. Click Convert — files process using the heic2any library entirely in your browser. Multiple files download as a ZIP.

How to get HEIC files from iPhone
