ImageZen4u started as a personal frustration turned into a free public tool. Every time I needed to quickly convert an iPhone photo, compress an image before emailing it, or resize something for social media, I ran into the same wall: every tool online either uploaded my files to a server, had a daily limit, required a sign-up, or asked me to pay for features that should be basic.
So I built my own. Then I made it public.
The single most important thing about ImageZen4u is this: your images never leave your device. Not even for a millisecond. Every single tool — compression, resizing, cropping, format conversion, background removal, HEIC conversion, watermarking — runs entirely inside your browser using the Canvas API and browser-based AI models.
There is no server receiving your files. There is no database storing your images. When you compress a photo, that photo is processed by your own device's processor, not a cloud server in some data centre. When you remove a background from a portrait, the AI model runs in your browser using WebGL acceleration — your photo never travels over the internet.
This matters for several reasons. First, privacy: your personal photos, business documents, and sensitive images stay on your device where they belong. Second, speed: without a server round-trip, processing is often faster than traditional upload-based tools. Third, it works offline after first load — no internet required to use the tools once the page has loaded.
ImageZen4u currently offers 24 free image tools covering every common image task:
Adjust and transform: Compress images without visible quality loss, resize to exact pixel dimensions, crop by dragging a selection, rotate by any degree, flip horizontally or vertically, apply Gaussian blur for privacy or effect, add rounded corners for modern design, and batch resize dozens of images at once with ZIP download.
Format conversion: Convert between JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, SVG, and GIF. The HEIC to JPG converter is one of our most-used tools — iPhones save photos in HEIC format by default since iOS 11, but Windows and most non-Apple software cannot open HEIC files without extra software. Our converter handles this entirely in the browser.
Edit and analyse: Add custom text with colour and position control, apply diagonal watermarks, strip GPS and camera metadata (EXIF data) before sharing photos, extract dominant colour palettes as HEX codes, remove image backgrounds using AI, and convert images to Base64 data URLs for web developers.
ImageZen4u is used by a wide range of people with different needs. Designers use it to quickly convert formats, compress images for web use, and extract colour palettes. Photographers use it to strip EXIF metadata before sharing photos publicly — EXIF data contains GPS coordinates, camera model, and timestamps that many photographers prefer not to share. iPhone users on Windows use the HEIC converter daily. Web developers use the Image to Base64 tool to embed small images directly in HTML or CSS. Marketers use the watermark and resize tools to prepare images for social media.
What they all have in common is that they need tools that work instantly, don't require an account, don't have daily limits, and don't store their images on a server.

ImageZen4u is free and will remain free. The site is funded by advertising through Google AdSense. When you visit a page, you may see ads — those ads are what keep the lights on. Because all processing happens on your device, our infrastructure costs are minimal: just a domain and a static hosting plan. That means we can offer unlimited free usage without needing to monetise your data or push you towards a paid plan.
